TaskLap Privacy Policy
Last Updated: July 5, 2026
Summary of Changes (July 2026 Revision)
This policy has been revised for TaskLap v1.2.0, which introduces an optional account sync feature. The main changes are:
- Only if you sign in, sync data is now stored in Google Firebase (cloud)
- Added account information (identifier and email address via Apple / Google) and synced user content to the information we collect
- Added a new "Deleting Your Account and Data" section
- If you do not sign in, everything works as before: all data stays only on your device (zero cloud transmission)
Important: Sync is optional. Unless you sign in, your data stays only on your device
TaskLap works fully locally by default and never sends your data anywhere. Only when you optionally sign in to sync across devices is your sync data stored in Google Firebase. We never collect data for advertising or tracking.
1. Information We Collect
TaskLap handles the following information:
All users (stored only on your device):
- Task titles and content
- Checklist names and items
- Groups and their organization
- Completion status, creation and update dates
- App settings (language, sort order, etc.)
Only if you sign in (stored in the cloud for sync):
- Account information: your user identifier and email address from Apple or Google Sign-In
- Synced user content: tasks, checklists, groups, and some settings
2. Information We Do Not Collect
We do not collect any of the following information:
- Location information
- Photo or camera access
- Contact information
- Advertising identifiers or tracking data
- Usage analytics data
3. Where Your Data Is Stored
On your device (always):
- All data is stored in a SQLite database on your device
- The app works fully offline; an internet connection is not required
In the cloud (only if you sign in):
- Sync data is stored in Google Firebase (Firebase Authentication / Cloud Firestore, operated on Google Cloud)
- Only the data needed for sync is stored in the cloud
- You can edit offline; changes sync when you are back online
4. How We Use Your Data
Data stored in the cloud is used solely to sync your content across your devices.
- Never used for advertising
- No tracking or behavioral analysis
- Never sold or shared with third parties
5. If You Do Not Sign In
If you do not sign in, TaskLap works fully locally, just as before. All data is stored only on your device and nothing is ever sent to the cloud. Deleting the app completely removes all data on the device.
6. Deleting Your Account and Data
You can delete your account at any time from Settings → Sync in the app. Deleting your account removes all of your data stored in the cloud (Firebase).
- Account deletion removes all your cloud data, including account information and synced content
- Data on your device remains after account deletion and stays fully usable offline
- If you only sign out, your cloud data is kept and restored when you sign in again
7. Data Sharing
We do not share or sell your data to any of the following:
- Advertising companies
- Analytics companies
- Other applications
- Social media platforms
- Other third parties
We use Google Firebase (Google LLC) as our cloud infrastructure to store sync data. Firebase processes your data only to provide the sync service.
8. Security
Your data is protected as follows:
- Cloud data is isolated per user; Firestore Security Rules ensure that only you can access your data
- All communication is encrypted in transit (HTTPS/TLS)
- Data on your device is protected by your device's security settings (passcode, biometrics, etc.)
9. Advertising
TaskLap app does not display any advertisements.
10. Age Requirement
TaskLap app is intended for users aged 13 and above. Users under 13 should use this app with parental consent.

12. Policy Changes
This privacy policy may be updated in response to changes in legal requirements or additions to app features. When there are significant changes, we will notify you in advance through the app or website. The most recent revision (July 2026) reflects the introduction of the optional account sync feature.
TaskLap respects your privacy with a simple principle: local by default, cloud only when you choose — and you keep full control of your data at all times.
